What is a Lactation Consultant?

The IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) is a health care provider trained to focus on the needs and concerns of the breastfeeding family and to prevent, recognize and solve difficulties that may arise during breastfeeding.

The Lactation Consultant has completed comprehensive training and accumulated extensive clinical experience to acquire and perfect skills in breastfeeding management and counselling, including problems and special situations.

A LACTATION CONSULTANT MAY BE SEEN FOR FREE THROUGH THE NIAGARA REGION PUBLIC HEALTH BREASTFEEDING CLINICS.

THE FOLLOWING LACTATION CONSULTANTS AND BREASTFEEDING SUPPORTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR A FEE $$ AND MAY VISIT YOU IN YOUR HOME ON EVENINGS AND/OR WEEKENDS
